Western Missouri Medical Center is a fully accredited acute care facility with 87 licensed inpatient beds. Inpatient services include Medical, Surgical, Intensive, Obstetrical, Orthopedic, Pediatric and Skilled Nursing care.

Medical Nursing Unit

    The Medical Hall is comprised of 9 private rooms and 6 semi-private rooms.  Our trained staff of nurses and technicians provide care to pediatric, adult, and elderly patients with non-surgical issues.  Working in conjunction with the Intensive Care Unit, we also have telemetry capabilities to monitor our patients with cardiac-related illnesses.  The most frequent diagnosis includes diabetes, respiratory conditions, and cardiac-related conditions, such as congestive heart failure, syncope and mild dysrhythmias, as well as cardiac diagnostic testing and interventions.

Surgical Nursing Unit

    The Surgical Hall is a twenty bed unit comprised of 1 private room and 9 semi-private rooms.  Our team of nurses and technicians are specially trained to provide care to pediatric, adult, and elderly surgical patients.  Working with the Intensive Care Unit, we have a telemetry system that provides the capacity to monitor the heart rhythms of those surgical patients with cardiac issues.  Surgical patients at WMMC represent a variety of specialties including general surgery, orthopedic surgery, gynecology, urology and ear, nose and throat patients.

Intensive Care

    The Intensive Care Unit is comprised of 6 private rooms specially equipped with state-of-the-art technology for critically ill patients.  The ICU cares for pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric critically ill, medical/surgical patients.  The most common population in the Intensive Care Unit includes unstable geriatric medical/surgical patients, trauma, Gastro-Intestinal bleeding, myocardial infarctions, acute pulmonary embolism, and respiratory failures requiring support by mechanical ventilation.  Close observation of patients with acute cardiac conditions is enhanced by hemodynamic monitoring capabilities.
